I find comfort in the midst of our collective chaos that Mother Nature still stays on course, bringing in Spring to the northern hemisphere and Autumn to the southern. And Mother Moon still circles us, carrying within her reflective surface all the energies of our solar system as she circles around the zodiac each month.
Today’s Pink Full Moon in Libra offers us a chance to reflect on how we need each other to fulfill our own needs and keep us safe. I’m reading an apocalyptic story about a pandemic which kills off half the world’s population, while opening up hidden magics in many of the survivors. Those survivors band together to create a new world, while fighting off the inevitable evil-doers.
While our society hasn’t quite gotten to that point, the story picks up on themes of this Full Moon.
The Libra Full Moon occurs at 5:22pm PDT/ 8:22pm EDT and on Sunday at 1:22am GMT.
The Sabian symbol for the Sun and Chiron at 24* Aries is: Blown inward by the wind, the curtains of an open window take the shape of a cornucopia. This symbol inspires (wind) us to be open to spiritual energies and powers that can nourish us. Healing old wounds and especially the grief we all feel for what is happening to our world, will help us to stand up for what we value. While many of us feel fear about what is happening, Spirit can help us see what our part in this is.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 24* Libra is: A butterfly with a third wing on its left side. In Jungian terms, this third wing represents the new path that comes out of holding the tension of opposites, which this third wing grows on the left feminine side of the butterfly. The Butterfly symbolizes the Soul and it’s power of transformation, rebirth and hope. It’s time to discover our own uniqueness. Isn’t it time we all re-connected with that living, spiritual fountain within each of us?
This Libra Full Moon is conjunct my favorite star – Arcturus. There are some New Age beliefs about Arcturians. Arcturians are said to be working with the planetary spiritual hierarchy to help prepare Earth and its inhabitants for a shift to a higher dimensional reality, often referred to as the fifth dimension. They are believed to be here to guide and assist individuals who are ready to embrace this shift, offering knowledge, wisdom, and support. Arcturians are associated with concepts like spiritual evolution, ascension, higher consciousness, and the interconnectedness of all beings. They are often seen as facilitators of healing and transformation, both on a personal and planetary level.(AI)
Arcturus, which can be found by following the arc of the Great Bear’s tail, is one of the brightest stars in the heavens, and its energy enhances this Full Moon’s power.
The Sabian symbol for Mars at 28* Cancer is: A Native American woman introduces her white lover to her assembled tribe. This symbol seems to indicate our need to re-connect with Mother Earth. Our modern society needs to reconnect with all of Nature if we’re to get through these changes.
This Libra Full Moon is opposite the Aries Sun conjunct Chiron, both squaring Mars in Cancer. Set for Washington D.C., the Full Moon falls in the 12th house, the house of Pisces, the Collective Unconscious. Carl Jung's concept of the collective unconscious refers to a shared, universal, and inherited part of the unconscious mind that contains archetypes, or universal, primordial images and ideas, common to all humanity. He also said that the collective unconscious holds all the the things our collective consciousness rejects, like the plight of the hungry and homeless, as well as the war-ravaged wounds we humans inflict on each other.
With the Aries Sun in a tight (19 minutes) conjunction to Chiron, the Wounded Healer and Mentor, it is a great time to reflect on our shared wounds, and in seeing how we share them, begin to accept and heal them. Our wounds help us grow in consciousness, and as we see the suffering in the world, and now share it through the fears this American president is fostering, we can begin to stand up (Aries) for each other (Libra). The square from Mars in Cancer shows us what our needs are (rather than our wants).
If this chaos teaches us anything, it will be that we remember what’s important in life and stop feeding the corporate hunger for selling us junk we don’t need! It’s time to discard not only things but habits that no longer serve us. It’s time to look at and heal the wounds that have made us who we are. Instead of wallowing in our ‘trauma’ perhaps we can face what astrologer Caroline Casey calls our ‘beautiful, dangerous assignment’ and find meaning in life again. We are in a dynamic time of change, and we can’t bring our old beliefs and wants into the future we need to create.
It’s time to stand up for our values and beliefs. It’s our time to take a stand.
Within an hour of this Libra Full Moon, Venus, the planet that rules Libra, turns direct in Pisces, after turning retrograde at 11* Aries on March 1st. Venus is not just the goddess of beauty and love, she is the archetypal energy that connects us to our souls and our values. And in Pisces, she’s connecting us to the World Soul.
Venus is conjunct Saturn and the North Node and trines Mars, which is the ruler of the Aries Sun. So this Full Moon connects us to our soul needs as well as our collective needs. With Saturn lending Venus its stability, we can begin to create a more spiritual, value-based community. As we see our old world crumbling, we need each other’s gifts and talents. We don’t have to do it all ourselves.
The Sabian symbol for Venus at 25* Pisces is: A religious organization succeeds in overcoming the corrupting influence of perverted practices and materialized ideals. This symbol conveys the power of the soul to purify our intentions and actions, and open us to new creative energies. These old, corrupting beliefs and the hypocrisy of its followers, are on full display now. Interestingly, the degree for Saturn (26* Pisces) talks about the fallacy of totalitarianism and the importance of our individual responses to the worldly challenges we face. The Pisces North Node tells us to trust Spirit instead of worrying how we’ll get to that better world. Let Spirit lead.
Love fights for what is important to life. EVIL is just the reverse of LIVE. It’s time to face down evil by living our best life.
As we celebrate Passover and Easter (and Ramadan just ended), it’s time to live our beliefs, to honor the past but not get stuck in old, out-dated moralities that have wounded humanity for so long.
It’s time for freedom and resurrection.
So Mote It Be!
Cathy
Hoping all is well. Wondering how you are dealing with this world gone bonkers.

If I could reach into the recesses of your saddest sorrow
If I could protect your trembling soul within my scar worn hand
If I could reinvent your yesterdays, secure your best tomorrow
If I could divine that sacred place to take our stand
If I could tell you that grand uplifting story,
convey such courage to embrace, exult you free
If I could move you into who you’re meant to be
If I could revoke the spell to blind
If I could blow clear your fumbling mind
If I could
I would recreate eternity
into a poem
into a home
just for you
